3D Velocity from 3D Doppler Radial Velocity
We present local least squares and regularization frameworks for computing 3D velocity (3D optical flow) from 3D radial velocity measured by a Doppler radar. We demonstrate the performance of our algorithms quantitatively on synthetic radial velocity data and qualitatively on real radial velocity data, obtained from the Doppler radar at Kurnell Radar station, Botany Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Radial velocity can be used to predict the future positions of storms in sequences of Doppler radar datasets.

Modeling Doppler Shifts in Radial-Velocity Data with Deep Learning toward Earth-mass Exoplanet Detection
Detecting the tiny Doppler shifts induced by Earth-mass planets in stellar radial-velocity measurements remains extremely challenging due to stellar activity. Many deep-learning methods performing well on simulated data …
Hyperparameter OptimizationFull-Velocity Radar Returns by Radar-Camera Fusion
A distinctive feature of Doppler radar is the measurement of velocity in the radial direction for radar points. However, the missing tangential velocity component hampers object velocity estimation as well as temporal in…
Optical Flow EstimationThree Dimensional Velocity Measurement Using a Dual Axis Millimeter-Wave Interferometric Radar
In this work, a method for directly measuring target velocity in three dimensions using a dual axis correlation interferometric radar is presented. Recent advances have shown that the measurement of a target's angular ve…
DICP: Doppler Iterative Closest Point Algorithm
In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for point cloud registration for range sensors capable of measuring per-return instantaneous radial velocity: Doppler ICP. Existing variants of ICP that solely rely on geometry…
