4D Geometric Shell Shaping with Applications to 400ZR
Geometric shell shaping is introduced and evaluated for reach increase and nonlinearity tolerance in terms of MI against PM-16QAM and PS-PM-16QAM in a 400ZR compatible transmission setup.

Introducing 4D Geometric Shell Shaping for Mitigating Nonlinear Interference Noise
Four dimensional geometric shell shaping (4D-GSS) is introduced as an approach for closing the nonlinearity-caused shaping gap. This format is designed at the spectral efficiency of 8 b/4D-sym and is compared against pol…
Geometrically Exact Hard Magneto-Elastic Cosserat Shells: Static Formulation for Shape Morphing
Cosserat rod theory is the popular approach to modeling ferromagnetic soft robots as 1-Dimensional (1D) slender structures in most applications, such as biomedical. However, recent soft robots designed for locomotion and…
Determinism of Randomness: Prompt-Residual Seed Shaping for Diffusion Generation
Diffusion models start generation from an isotropic Gaussian latent, yet changing only the random seed can lead to large differences in prompt faithfulness, composition, and visual quality. We study this seed sensitivity…
Neural parametric representations for thin-shell shape optimisation
Shape optimisation of thin-shell structures requires a flexible, differentiable geometric representation suitable for gradient-based optimisation. We propose a neural parametric geometry representation (NRep) for shells …
Probabilistic Shaping for Finite Blocklengths: Distribution Matching and Sphere Shaping
In this paper, we provide for the first time a systematic comparison of distribution matching (DM) and sphere shaping (SpSh) algorithms for short blocklength probabilistic amplitude shaping. For asymptotically large bloc…
