Equalization Enhanced Phase Noise in Coherent Receivers: DSP-Aware Analysis and Shaped Constellations
We revisit the analysis of equalization-enhanced phase noise (EEPN) arising in coherent receivers from the interaction between the chromatic dispersion compensation by an electronic equalizer and the phase noise of the l…
Equalization-Enhanced Phase Noise: Modeling and DSP-aware Analysis
In coherent optical communication systems the laser phase noise is commonly modeled as a Wiener process. We propose a sliding-window based linearization of the phase noise, enabling a novel description. We show that, by …
Novel Phase-Noise-Tolerant Variational-Autoencoder-Based Equalization Suitable for Space-Division-Multiplexed Transmission
We demonstrate the effectiveness of a novel phase-noise-tolerant, variational-autoencoder-based equalization scheme for space-division-multiplexed (SDM) transmission in an experiment over 150km of randomly-coupled multi-…
Exploring Low-light Object Detection Techniques
Images acquired by computer vision systems under low light conditions have multiple characteristics like high noise, lousy illumination, reflectance, and bad contrast, which make object detection tasks difficult. Much wo…
