Adaptive Moments are Surprisingly Effective for Plug-and-Play Diffusion Sampling

2026-03-17 · Christian Belardi, Justin Lovelace, Kilian Q. Weinberger, Carla P. Gomes arxiv

Guided diffusion sampling relies on approximating often intractable likelihood scores, which introduces significant noise into the sampling dynamics. We propose using adaptive moment estimation to stabilize these noisy likelihood scores during sampling. Despite its simplicity, our approach achieves state-of-the-art results on image restoration and class-conditional generation tasks, outperforming more complicated methods, which are often computationally more expensive. We provide empirical analysis of our method on both synthetic and real data, demonstrating that mitigating gradient noise through adaptive moments offers an effective way to improve alignment.

Dashed Line Defense: Plug-And-Play Defense Against Adaptive Score-Based Query Attacks

2026-02-09 · Yanzhang Fu, Zizheng Guo, Jizhou Luo arxiv

Score-based query attacks pose a serious threat to deep learning models by crafting adversarial examples (AEs) using only black-box access to model output scores, iteratively optimizing inputs based on observed loss valu…

Moment Quantization for Video Temporal Grounding

2025-04-03 · Xiaolong Sun, Le Wang, Sanping Zhou, Liushuai Shi 외

Video temporal grounding is a critical video understanding task, which aims to localize moments relevant to a language description. The challenge of this task lies in distinguishing relevant and irrelevant moments. Previ…

Attend to the Right Context: A Plug-and-Play Module for Content-Controllable Summarization

2022-12-21 · Wen Xiao, Lesly Miculicich, Yang Liu, Pengcheng He 외

Content-Controllable Summarization generates summaries focused on the given controlling signals. Due to the lack of large-scale training corpora for the task, we propose a plug-and-play module RelAttn to adapt any genera…
