Belief Propagation as Diffusion

2021-07-26 · Olivier Peltre

We introduce novel belief propagation algorithms to estimate the marginals of a high dimensional probability distribution. They involve natural (co)homological constructions relevant for a localised description of statistical systems.

Variational Diffusion Channel Decoder

2026-05-17 · Chengwei Zhang, Yifan Du, Siyu Liao arxiv

Neural channel decoder, as a data-driven channel decoding strategy, has shown very promising improvement on error-correcting capability over the classical methods. However, the success of those deep learning-based decode…

Local Max-Entropy and Free Energy Principles, Belief Diffusions and their Singularities

2023-10-04 · Olivier Peltre

A comprehensive picture of three Bethe-Kikuchi variational principles including their relationship to belief propagation (BP) algorithms on hypergraphs is given. The structure of BP equations is generalized to define con…

Belief propagation generalizes backpropagation

2022-10-02 · Frederik Eaton

The two most important algorithms in artificial intelligence are backpropagation and belief propagation. In spite of their importance, the connection between them is poorly characterized. We show that when an input to ba…

Convergence of Generalized Belief Propagation Algorithm on Graphs with Motifs

2021-12-11 · Yitao Chen, Deepanshu Vasal

Belief propagation is a fundamental message-passing algorithm for numerous applications in machine learning. It is known that belief propagation algorithm is exact on tree graphs. However, belief propagation is run on lo…

Neural Enhanced Belief Propagation on Factor Graphs

2020-03-04 · Victor Garcia Satorras, Max Welling

A graphical model is a structured representation of locally dependent random variables. A traditional method to reason over these random variables is to perform inference using belief propagation. When provided with the …
