Consequences of Culling in Deterministic ODE Predator-Prey Models
We show, within the context of the standard class of deterministic ODE predator-prey mathematical models, that predator culling does not produce a long term decrease in the predator population.

Effects and biological consequences of the predator-mediated apparent competition I: ODE models
This paper is devoted to investigating the effects and biological consequences of the predator-mediated apparent competition based on a two prey species (one is native and the other is invasive) and one predator model wi…
Random Evolutionary Dynamics in Predator-Prey Systems Yields Large, Clustered Ecosystems
We study the effect of speciation, i.e. the introduction of new species through evolution into communities, in the setting of predator-prey systems. Predator-prey dynamics is classically well modeled by Lotka-Volterra eq…
ClusteringThe balance between contamination and predation determine species existence in prey-predator dynamics with contaminated and uncontaminated prey
In freshwater ecosystems, aquatic insects that ontogenetically shift their habitat from aquatic to terrestrial play vital roles as prey subsidies that move nutrients and energy from aquatic to terrestrial food webs. As a…
Heterogeneity of Interaction Strengths and Its Consequences on Ecological Systems
Ecosystems are formed by networks of species and their interactions. Traditional models of such interactions assume a constant interaction strength between a given pair of species. However, there is often significant tra…
The Stochastic Gause predator-prey model: noise-induced extinctions and invariance
This paper explores a stochastic Gause predator-prey model with bounded or sub-linear functional response. The model, described by a system of stochastic differential equations, captures the influence of stochastic fluct…
