Deep Meta Functionals for Shape Representation
We present a new method for 3D shape reconstruction from a single image, in which a deep neural network directly maps an image to a vector of network weights. The network \textcolor{black}{parametrized by} these weights represents a 3D shape by classifying every point in the volume as either within or outside the shape. The new representation has virtually unlimited capacity and resolution, and can have an arbitrary topology. Our experiments show that it leads to more accurate shape inference from a 2D projection than the existing methods, including voxel-, silhouette-, and mesh-based methods. Law-Invariant Return and Star-Shaped Risk Measures
This paper presents novel characterization results for classes of law-invariant star-shaped functionals. We begin by establishing characterizations for positively homogeneous and star-shaped functionals that exhibit seco…
Meta Deformation Network: Meta Functionals for Shape Correspondence
We present a new technique named "Meta Deformation Network" for 3D shape matching via deformation, in which a deep neural network maps a reference shape onto the parameters of a second neural network whose task is to giv…
DecoderMeta-Learning Mini-Batch Risk Functionals
Supervised learning typically optimizes the expected value risk functional of the loss, but in many cases, we want to optimize for other risk functionals. In full-batch gradient descent, this is done by taking gradients …

We introduce a novel numerical framework for the exploration of Blaschke--Santaló diagrams, which are efficient tools characterizing the possible inequalities relating some given shape functionals. We introduce a paramet…
Learning local and semi-local density functionals from exact exchange-correlation potentials and energies
Finding accurate exchange-correlation (XC) functionals remains the defining challenge in density functional theory (DFT). Despite 40 years of active development, the desired chemical accuracy is still elusive with existi…
