Evolutionary Machine Learning and Games

2023-11-20 · Julian Togelius, Ahmed Khalifa, Sam Earle, Michael Cerny Green, Lisa Soros

Evolutionary machine learning (EML) has been applied to games in multiple ways, and for multiple different purposes. Importantly, AI research in games is not only about playing games; it is also about generating game content, modeling players, and many other applications. Many of these applications pose interesting problems for EML. We will structure this chapter on EML for games based on whether evolution is used to augment machine learning (ML) or ML is used to augment evolution. For completeness, we also briefly discuss the usage of ML and evolution separately in games.

Analyzing coevolutionary games with dynamic fitness landscapes

2016-03-21 · Hendrik Richter

Coevolutionary games cast players that may change their strategies as well as their networks of interaction. In this paper a framework is introduced for describing coevolutionary game dynamics by landscape models. It is …

Dynamic landscape models of coevolutionary games

2016-11-28 · Hendrik Richter

Players of coevolutionary games may update not only their strategies but also their networks of interaction. Based on interpreting the payoff of players as fitness, dynamic landscape models are proposed. The modeling pro…
