Exploring Integral Image Word Length Reduction Techniques for SURF Detector

2015-04-29 · Shoaib Ehsan, Klaus D. McDonald-Maier

Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) is a state of the art computer vision algorithm that relies on integral image representation for performing fast detection and description of image features that are scale and rotation invariant. Integral image representation, however, has major draw back of large binary word length that leads to substantial increase in memory size. When designing a dedicated hardware to achieve real-time performance for the SURF algorithm, it is imperative to consider the adverse effects of integral image on memory size, bus width and computational resources. With the objective of minimizing hardware resources, this paper presents a novel implementation concept of a reduced word length integral image based SURF detector. It evaluates two existing word length reduction techniques for the particular case of SURF detector and extends one of these to achieve more reduction in word length. This paper also introduces a novel method to achieve integral image word length reduction for SURF detector.

Uncovering Singularities in Feynman Integrals via Machine Learning

2025-10-11 · Yuanche Liu, Yingxuan Xu, Yang Zhang arxiv

We introduce a machine-learning framework based on symbolic regression to extract the full symbol alphabet of multi-loop Feynman integrals. By targeting the analytic structure rather than reduction, the method is broadly…

Memory-Efficient Design Strategy for a Parallel Embedded Integral Image Computation Engine

2015-10-17 · Shoaib Ehsan, Adrian F. Clark, Wah M. Cheung, Arjunsingh M. Bais 외

In embedded vision systems, parallel computation of the integral image presents several design challenges in terms of hardware resources, speed and power consumption. Although recursive equations significantly reduce the…

Learning to Unscramble Feynman Loop Integrals with SAILIR

This work introduces additions to the corpus ChoCo, a multimodal corpus for the American indigenous language Choctaw. Using texts from the corpus, we develop new computational resources by using two off-the-shelf tools: …

LTL under reductions with weaker conditions than stutter-invariance

2021-11-05 · Emmanuel Paviot-Adet, Denis Poitrenaud, Etienne Renault, Yann Thierry-Mieg

Verification of properties expressed as-regular languages such as LTL can benefit hugely from stutter-insensitivity, using a diverse set of reduction strategies. However properties that are not stutter-insensitive, for i…
