Diffusion Map Autoencoder
In this work, we explore various modifications to diffusion maps (DMAP), including their incorporation into a layered sequential neural network model trained with gradient descent. The result is a sequential neural network that inherits the interpretability of diffusion maps.

Latent Diffusion Models with Masked AutoEncoders
In spite of the remarkable potential of Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) in image generation, the desired properties and optimal design of the autoencoders have been underexplored. In this work, we analyze the role of auto…

A standard Variational Autoencoder, with a Euclidean latent space, is structurally incapable of capturing topological properties of certain datasets. To remove topological obstructions, we introduce Diffusion Variational…
Diffusion Models as Masked Autoencoders
There has been a longstanding belief that generation can facilitate a true understanding of visual data. In line with this, we revisit generatively pre-training visual representations in light of recent interest in denoi…

Inspired by recent advances in diffusion models, which are reminiscent of denoising autoencoders, we investigate whether they can acquire discriminative representations for classification via generative pre-training. Thi…
