Finite symmetries in agent-based epidemic models

2016-09-27

We present an algorithm which explores permutation symmetries to describe the time evolution of agent-based epidemic models. The main idea to improve computation times relies on restricting the stochastic process to one sector of the vector space, labeled by a single permutation eigenvalue. In this scheme, the transition matrix reduces to block diagonal form, enhancing computational performance.

An age-structured diffusive model for epidemic modelling: Lie symmetries and exact solutions

2024-11-12 · Roman Cherniha, Vasyl' Davydovych

A new age-structured diffusive model for the mathematical modelling of epidemics is suggested. The model can be considered as a generalization of two models suggested earlier for the same purposes. The Lie symmetry class…

Mobility decisions, economic dynamics and epidemic

2021-07-04 · Giorgio Fabbri, Salvatore Federico, Davide Fiaschi, Fausto Gozzi

We propose a model, which nests a susceptible-infected-recovered-deceased (SIRD) epidemic model into a dynamic macroeconomic equilibrium framework with agents' mobility. The latter affect both their income and their prob…

Modeling epidemics on d-cliqued graphs

2018-01-31

Since social interactions have been shown to lead to symmetric clusters, we propose here that symmetries play a key role in epidemic modeling. Mathematical models on d-ary tree graphs were recently shown to be particular…

On a stochastic model of epidemic spread with an application to competing infections

2018-05-27

A simple, but ``classical``, stochastic model for epidemic spread in a finite, but large, population is studied. The progress of the epidemic can be divided into three different phases that requires different tools to an…

A Dynamic Population Model of Strategic Interaction and Migration under Epidemic Risk

2021-09-07 · Ezzat Elokda, Saverio Bolognani, Ashish R. Hota

In this paper, we show how a dynamic population game can model the strategic interaction and migration decisions made by a large population of agents in response to epidemic prevalence. Specifically, we consider a modifi…
