Assessment of COVID-19 hospitalization forecasts from a simplified SIR model
We propose the SH model, a simplified version of the well-known SIR compartmental model of infectious diseases. With optimized parameters and initial conditions, this time-invariant two-parameter two-dimensional model is…
Nowcasting Covid-19 statistics reported withdelay: a case-study of Sweden
The new corona virus disease -- COVID-2019 -- is rapidly spreading through the world. The availability of unbiased timely statistics of trends in disease events are a key to effective responses. But due to reporting dela…
A Multi-Modal Respiratory Disease Exacerbation Prediction Technique Based on a Spatio-Temporal Machine Learning Architecture
Chronic respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma, are a serious health crisis, affecting a large number of people globally and inflicting major costs on the economy. Current methods …
BIG-bench Machine LearningThe Role of Quarantine and Isolation in Controlling COVID-19 Hospitalization in Oman
In this paper, we build a mathematical model for the dynamics of COVID-19 to assess the impact of placing healthy individuals in quarantine and isolating infected ones on the number of hospitalization and intensive care …
Service Selection using Predictive Models and Monte-Carlo Tree Search
This article proposes a method for automated service selection to improve treatment efficacy and reduce re-hospitalization costs. A predictive model is developed using the National Home and Hospice Care Survey (NHHCS) da…
