Improving the Test-retest Reliability of Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping
Motivation - The test-retest reliability of quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is affected by parameters of the acquisition protocol such as the angulation of acquisition plane with respect to the B0 field direction and spatial resolution. Goal - We aim to reduce the protocol-dependent biases/errors that might overshadow subtle changes of the susceptibility values due to pathology in the brain. Approach - The magnitude and phase images used for QSM are registered according to a standard reference protocol in the k-space through nonuniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT). Results - With the help of our proposed approach, the test-retest reliability of scans acquired from different protocols is notably improved. Impact - The improved test-retest reliability of QSM makes it easier to detect subtle susceptibility changes in the early stages of neurodegeneration such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.

Method to Assess the Temporal Persistence of Potential Biometric Features: Application to Oculomotor, and Gait-Related Databases
Although temporal persistence, or permanence, is a well understood requirement for optimal biometric features, there is no general agreement on how to assess temporal persistence. We suggest that the best way to assess t…
A webcam-based machine learning approach for three-dimensional range of motion evaluation
Background. Joint range of motion (ROM) is an important quantitative measure for physical therapy. Commonly relying on a goniometer, accurate and reliable ROM measurement requires extensive training and practice. This, i…
State-transition dynamics of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data: Model comparison and test-to-retest analysis
Electroencephalogram (EEG) microstate analysis entails finding dynamics of quasi-stable and generally recurrent discrete states in multichannel EEG time series data and relating properties of the estimated state-transiti…

An approach to reduce motion artifacts in Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping using deep learning is proposed. We use an affine motion model with randomly created motion profiles to simulate motion-corrupted QSM images. …
Reliability of energy landscape analysis of resting-state functional MRI data
Energy landscape analysis is a data-driven method to analyze multidimensional time series, including functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data. It has been shown to be a useful characterization of fMRI data in he…
