ManyEnt: A Dataset for Few-shot Entity Typing

2020-12-01 · COLING 2020 8 · Markus Eberts, Kevin Pech, Adrian Ulges

We introduce ManyEnt, a benchmark for entity typing models in few-shot scenarios. ManyEnt offers a rich typeset, with a fine-grain variant featuring 256 entity types and a coarse-grain one with 53 entity types. Both versions have been derived from the Wikidata knowledge graph in a semi-automatic fashion. We also report results for two baselines using BERT, reaching up to 70.68{\%} accuracy (10-way 1-shot).

Zero-Shot Open Entity Typing as Type-Compatible Grounding

2019-07-07 · EMNLP 2018 10 · Ben Zhou, Daniel Khashabi, Chen-Tse Tsai, Dan Roth

The problem of entity-typing has been studied predominantly in supervised learning fashion, mostly with task-specific annotations (for coarse types) and sometimes with distant supervision (for fine types). While such app…

Generative Entity Typing with Curriculum Learning

Entity typing aims to assign types to the entity mentions in given texts. The traditional classification-based entity typing paradigm has two unignorable drawbacks: 1) it fails to assign an entity to the types beyond the…

Label Embedding for Zero-shot Fine-grained Named Entity Typing

2016-12-01 · COLING 2016 12 · Yukun Ma, Erik Cambria, Sa Gao

Named entity typing is the task of detecting the types of a named entity in context. For instance, given {``}Eric is giving a presentation{''}, our goal is to infer that {`}Eric{'} is a speaker or a presenter and a perso…

The training of NLP models often requires large amounts of labelled training data, which makes it difficult to expand existing models to new languages. While zero-shot cross-lingual transfer relies on multilingual word e…

Fine-grained Entity typing (FGET) is the task of assigning a fine-grained type from a hierarchy to entity mentions in the text. As the taxonomy of types evolves continuously, it is desirable for an entity typing system t…
