Measures of hydroxymethylation
Hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) methylation is known to be a possible epigenetic mark impacting genome stability. In this paper, we address the existing 5hmC measure $\Delta \beta$ and discuss its properties both analytically and empirically on real data. Then we introduce several alternative hydroxymethylation measures and compare their properties with those of $\Delta \beta$. All results will be illustrated by means of real data analyses.

Set-valued Star-Shaped Risk Measures
In this paper, we introduce a new class of set-valued risk measures, named set-valued star-shaped risk measures. Motivated by the results of scalar monetary and star-shaped risk measures, this paper investigates the repr…
A Survey on Time-Series Distance Measures
Distance measures have been recognized as one of the fundamental building blocks in time-series analysis tasks, e.g., querying, indexing, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and similarity search. The vast pro…

A general notion of algebraic conditional plausibility measures is defined. Probability measures, ranking functions, possibility measures, and (under the appropriate definitions) sets of probability measures can all be v…
What do complexity measures measure? Correlating and validating corpus-based measures of morphological complexity
We present an analysis of eight measures used for quantifying morphological complexity of natural languages. The measures we study are corpus-based measures of morphological complexity with varying requirements for corpu…
Star-Shaped deviations
We propose the Star-Shaped deviation measures in the same vein as Star-Shaped risk measures and Star-Shaped acceptability indexes. We characterize Star-Shaped deviation measures through Star-Shaped acceptance sets and as…
