Multivariate matrix-exponential affine mixtures and their applications in risk theory

2021-12-17 · Eric C. K. Cheung, Oscar Peralta, Jae-Kyung Woo

In this paper, a class of multivariate matrix-exponential affine mixtures with matrix-exponential marginals is proposed. The class is shown to possess various attractive properties such as closure under size-biased Esscher transform, order statistics, residual lifetime and higher order equilibrium distributions. This allows for explicit calculations of various actuarial quantities of interest. The results are applied in a wide range of actuarial problems including multivariate risk measures, aggregate loss, large claims reinsurance, weighted premium calculations and risk capital allocation. Furthermore, a multiplicative background risk model with dependent risks is considered and its capital allocation rules are provided as well. We finalize by discussing a calibration scheme based on complete data and potential avenues of research.

Identifiability and Estimation for Unlabeled Finite Mixtures under Marginal Independence

2026-06-06 · Takafumi Kanamori, Yushi Hirose, Shohei Yamamoto arxiv

We study component recovery and mixing-matrix estimation from unlabeled finite mixtures whose observable distributions share the same latent components but have unknown mixing weights. The main identifying signal is marg…

A multivariate extension to the Exponentially-modified Gaussian distribution

2021-09-22 · NeurIPS Workshop ICBINB 2021 12 · Sandhya Prabhakaran

The exponentially-modified Gaussian (EMG) distribution is a convolution sum of a univariate Gaussian and an exponential distribution. This has been used to model univariate skewed data such as chromatographic peaks' shap…

Generative Flows with Matrix Exponential

2020-07-19 · ICML 2020 1 · Changyi Xiao, Ligang Liu

Generative flows models enjoy the properties of tractable exact likelihood and efficient sampling, which are composed of a sequence of invertible functions. In this paper, we incorporate matrix exponential into generativ…

Mixtures of Skewed Matrix Variate Bilinear Factor Analyzers

2018-09-07 · Michael P. B. Gallaugher, Paul D. McNicholas

In recent years, data have become increasingly higher dimensional and, therefore, an increased need has arisen for dimension reduction techniques for clustering. Although such techniques are firmly established in the lit…
