Networking the Boids is More Robust Against Adversarial Learning

2018-02-27 · Jiangjun Tang, George Leu, Hussein Abbass

Swarm behavior using Boids-like models has been studied primarily using close-proximity spatial sensory information (e.g. vision range). In this study, we propose a novel approach in which the classic definition of boids\textquoteright \ neighborhood that relies on sensory perception and Euclidian space locality is replaced with graph-theoretic network-based proximity mimicking communication and social networks. We demonstrate that networking the boids leads to faster swarming and higher quality of the formation. We further investigate the effect of adversarial learning, whereby an observer attempts to reverse engineer the dynamics of the swarm through observing its behavior. The results show that networking the swarm demonstrated a more robust approach against adversarial learning than a local-proximity neighborhood structure.

A Linear Approach to Matching Cuboids in RGBD Images

2013-06-01 · CVPR 2013 6 · Hao Jiang, Jianxiong Xiao

We propose a novel linear method to match cuboids in indoor scenes using RGBD images from Kinect. Beyond depth maps, these cuboids reveal important structures of a scene. Instead of directly fitting cuboids to 3D data, w…

MonteBoxFinder: Detecting and Filtering Primitives to Fit a Noisy Point Cloud

2022-07-28 · Michaël Ramamonjisoa, Sinisa Stekovic, Vincent Lepetit

We present MonteBoxFinder, a method that, given a noisy input point cloud, fits cuboids to the input scene. Our primary contribution is a discrete optimization algorithm that, from a dense set of initially detected cuboi…

Localizing 3D cuboids in single-view images

2012-12-01 · NeurIPS 2012 12 · Jianxiong Xiao, Bryan Russell, Antonio Torralba

In this paper we seek to detect rectangular cuboids and localize their corners in uncalibrated single-view images depicting everyday scenes. In contrast to recent approaches that rely on detecting vanishing points of the…

Enhancing Resilience for IoE: A Perspective of Networking-Level Safeguard

2025-08-28 · Guan-Yan Yang, Jui-Ning Chen, Farn Wang, Kuo-Hui Yeh arxiv

The Internet of Energy (IoE) integrates IoT-driven digital communication with power grids to enable efficient and sustainable energy systems. Still, its interconnectivity exposes critical infrastructure to sophisticated …

Robust Shape Fitting for 3D Scene Abstraction

2024-03-15 · Florian Kluger, Eric Brachmann, Michael Ying Yang, Bodo Rosenhahn

Humans perceive and construct the world as an arrangement of simple parametric models. In particular, we can often describe man-made environments using volumetric primitives such as cuboids or cylinders. Inferring these …
