Optimum Liquidation Problem Associated with the Poisson Cluster Process

2015-12-25

In this research, we develop a trading strategy for the discrete-time optimal liquidation problem of large order trading with different market microstructures in an illiquid market. In this framework, the flow of orders can be viewed as a point process with stochastic intensity. We model the price impact as a linear function of a self-exciting dynamic process. We formulate the liquidation problem as a discrete-time Markov Decision Processes, where the state process is a Piecewise Deterministic Markov Process (PDMP). The numerical results indicate that an optimal trading strategy is dependent on characteristics of the market microstructure. When no orders above certain value come the optimal solution takes offers in the lower levels of the limit order book in order to prevent not filling of orders and facing final inventory costs.

Optimal Liquidation under Partial Information with Price Impact

We study the optimal liquidation problem in a market model where the bid price follows a geometric pure jump process whose local characteristics are driven by an unobservable finite-state Markov chain and by the liquidat…

Optimal liquidation in a Level-I limit order book for large tick stocks

2017-11-14

We propose a framework to study the optimal liquidation strategy in a limit order book for large-tick stocks, with spread equal to one tick. All order book events (market orders, limit orders and cancellations) occur acc…

Optimal liquidation under stochastic price impact

We assume a continuous-time price impact model similar to Almgren-Chriss but with the added assumption that the price impact parameters are stochastic processes modeled as correlated scalar Markov diffusions. In this set…

It has been decades since the academic world of ruin theory defined the insolvency of an insurance company as the time when its surplus falls below zero. This simplification, however, needs careful adaptions to imitate t…
