Phase transitions in the Prisoner's Dilemma game on scale-free networks
We study stochastic dynamics of the Prisoner's Dilemma game on random Erd\"{o}s-R\'{e}nyi and Barab\'{a}si-Albert networks with a cost of maintaining a link between interacting players. Stochastic simulations show that when the cost increases, the population of players located on Barab\'{a}si-Albert network undergoes a sharp transition from an ordered state, where almost all players cooperate, to a state in which both cooperators and defectors coexist. At the critical cost, the population oscillates in time between these two states. Such a situation is not present in the Erd\"{o}s-R\'{e}nyi network. We provide some heuristic analytical arguments for the phase transition and the value of the critical cost in the Barab\'{a}si-Albert network.

Phase transitions in the Prisoner's Dilemma game on the Barabási-Albert graph with participation cost
We examine the impact of the maintenance cost of social links on cooperative behavior in the Prisoner's Dilemma game on the Barab\'asi-Albert scale-free network with a pairwise stochastic imitation. We show by means of M…
Towards Cooperation in Sequential Prisoner's Dilemmas: a Deep Multiagent Reinforcement Learning Approach
The Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma has guided research on social dilemmas for decades. However, it distinguishes between only two atomic actions: cooperate and defect. In real-world prisoner's dilemmas, these choices are te…

We theoretically study the effect of a third person enforcement on a one-shot prisoner's dilemma game played by two persons, with whom the third person plays repeated prisoner's dilemma games. We find that the possibilit…
Evolutionary Games on Networks: Phase Transition, Quasi-equilibrium, and Mathematical Principles
The stable cooperation ratio of spatial evolutionary games has been widely studied using simulations or approximate analysis methods. However, sometimes such ``stable'' cooperation ratios obtained via approximate methods…
Cooperation in the spatial prisoner's dilemma game with probabilistic abstention
Research has shown that the addition of abstention as an option transforms social dilemmas to rock-paper-scissor type games, where defectors dominate cooperators, cooperators dominate abstainers (loners), and abstainers …
