PA-MIL: Phenotype-Aware Multiple Instance Learning Guided by Language Prompting and Genotype-to-Phenotype Relationships
Deep learning has been extensively researched in the analysis of pathology whole-slide images (WSIs). However, most existing methods are limited to providing prediction interpretability by locating the model's salient ar…
Multiple Instance LearningEvolving Complexity is Hard
Understanding the evolution of complexity is an important topic in a wide variety of academic fields. Implications of better understanding complexity include increased knowledge of major evolutionary transitions and the …
Analysis of Genotype-Phenotype Association using Genomic Informational Field Theory (GIFT)
We show how field- and information theory can be used to quantify the relationship between genotype and phenotype in cases where phenotype is a continuous variable. Given a sample population of phenotype measurements, fr…
Statistical theory of phenotype abundance distributions: a test through exact enumeration of genotype spaces
The evolutionary dynamics of molecular populations are strongly dependent on the structure of genotype spaces. The map between genotype and phenotype determines how easily genotype spaces can be navigated and the accessi…
Inferring genotype-phenotype maps using attention models
Predicting phenotype from genotype is a central challenge in genetics. Traditional approaches in quantitative genetics typically analyze this problem using methods based on linear regression. These methods generally assu…
