Regions of multistationarity in cascades of Goldbeter-Koshland loops
We consider cascades of enzymatic Goldbeter-Koshland loops with any number n of layers, for which there exist two layers involving the same phosphatase. Even if the number of variables and the number of conservation laws grow linearly with n, we find explicit regions in reaction rate constant and total conservation constant space for which the associated mass-action kinetics dynamical system is multistationary. Our computations are based on the theoretical results of our companion paper in arXiv:1807.05157, which are inspired by results in real algebraic geometry by Bihan, Santos and Spaenlehauer.

Understanding Multistationarity of Fully Open Reaction Networks
This work addresses multistationarity of fully open reaction networks equipped with mass action kinetics. We improve upon the existing results relating existence of positive feedback loops in a reaction network and multi…
EpidemiologyGraph AttentionGraph LearningThe kinetic space of multistationarity in dual phosphorylation
Multistationarity in molecular systems underlies switch-like responses in cellular decision making. Determining whether and when a system displays multistationarity is in general a difficult problem. In this work we comp…
Decision MakingConnectivity of Parameter Regions of Multistationarity for Multisite Phosphorylation Networks
The parameter region of multistationarity of a reaction network contains all the parameters for which the associated dynamical system exhibits multiple steady states. Describing this region is challenging and remains an …
The multistationarity structure of networks with intermediates and a binomial core network
This work addresses whether a reaction network, taken with mass-action kinetics, is multistationary, that is, admits more than one positive steady state in some stoichiometric compatibility class. We build on previous wo…
Parameter region for multistationarity in $n-$site phosphorylation networks
Multisite phosphorylation is a signaling mechanism well known to give rise to multiple steady states, a property termed multistationarity. When phosphorylation occurs in a sequential and distributive manner, we obtain a …
