Signal Attenuation through Foliage Estimator (SAFE)
The SAFE tool is an open-source Radio Frequency (RF) propagation model designed for path loss predictions in foliage-dominant environments. It utilizes the ITU-R P.1812-6 model as its backbone, enhances predictions with the physics-based Radiative Energy Transfer (RET) model and makes use of high-resolution terrain and clutter elevation datasets

Variability of radio signal attenuation by single deciduous tree versus reception angle at 80 GHz
Vegetation significantly affects radio signal attenuation, influenced by factors such as signal frequency, plant species, and foliage density. Existing attenuation models typically address specific scenarios, like single…
UWB Radar for through Foliage Imaging using Cyclic Prefix-based OFDM
This paper proposes the use of sufficient cyclic prefix (CP) OFDM synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for foliage penetration (FOPEN). The foliage introduces phase and amplitude fluctuation which cause the sidelobes to increa…
Analysis and Prediction of Coverage and Channel Rank for UAV Networks in Rural Scenarios with Foliage
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are expected to play a key role in 6G-enabled vehicular-to-everything (V2X) communications requiring high data rates, low latency, and reliable connectivity for mission-critical applicatio…
Estimation de ligne de base de capteurs d'humectation : int{é}gration et minimum locaux {à} diff{é}rentes {é}chelles
Dielectric wetness sensors are used in agriculture to detect the presence of water on foliage and to predict the risk of disease development. The measured electrical signal has a base level drift that skews the alerts. W…
Deep Learning-aided Parametric Sparse Channel Estimation for Terahertz Massive MIMO Systems
Terahertz (THz) communications is considered as one of key solutions to support extremely high data demand in 6G. One main difficulty of the THz communication is the severe signal attenuation caused by the foliage loss, …
