Tell Me Why You Feel That Way: Processing Compositional Dependency for Tree-LSTM Aspect Sentiment Triplet Extraction (TASTE)

2021-03-10 · A. Sutherland, S. Bensch, T. Hellström, S. Magg, S. Wermter

Sentiment analysis has transitioned from classifying the sentiment of an entire sentence to providing the contextual information of what targets exist in a sentence, what sentiment the individual targets have, and what the causal words responsible for that sentiment are. However, this has led to elaborate requirements being placed on the datasets needed to train neural networks on the joint triplet task of determining an entity, its sentiment, and the causal words for that sentiment. Requiring this kind of data for training systems is problematic, as they suffer from stacking subjective annotations and domain over-fitting leading to poor model generalisation when applied in new contexts. These problems are also likely to be compounded as we attempt to jointly determine additional contextual elements in the future. To mitigate these problems, we present a hybrid neural-symbolic method utilising a Dependency Tree-LSTM's compositional sentiment parse structure and complementary symbolic rules to correctly extract target-sentiment-cause triplets from sentences without the need for triplet training data. We show that this method has the potential to perform in line with state-of-the-art approaches while also simplifying the data required and providing a degree of interpretability through the Tree-LSTM.

Learning compositional structures for semantic graph parsing

2021-06-08 · ACL (spnlp) 2021 8 · Jonas Groschwitz, Meaghan Fowlie, Alexander Koller

AM dependency parsing is a method for neural semantic graph parsing that exploits the principle of compositionality. While AM dependency parsers have been shown to be fast and accurate across several graphbanks, they req…

A Re-ranking Model for Dependency Parser with Recursive Convolutional Neural Network

2015-05-21 · IJCNLP 2015 7 · Chenxi Zhu, Xipeng Qiu, Xinchi Chen, Xuanjing Huang

In this work, we address the problem to model all the nodes (words or phrases) in a dependency tree with the dense representations. We propose a recursive convolutional neural network (RCNN) architecture to capture synta…

AMR Dependency Parsing with a Typed Semantic Algebra

2018-05-29 · ACL 2018 7 · Jonas Groschwitz, Matthias Lindemann, Meaghan Fowlie, Mark Johnson 외

We present a semantic parser for Abstract Meaning Representations which learns to parse strings into tree representations of the compositional structure of an AMR graph. This allows us to use standard neural techniques f…

Easy-First Dependency Parsing with Hierarchical Tree LSTMs

2016-03-01 · TACL 2016 1 · Eliyahu Kiperwasser, Yoav Goldberg

We suggest a compositional vector representation of parse trees that relies on a recursive combination of recurrent-neural network encoders. To demonstrate its effectiveness, we use the representation as the backbone of …

Aligning Packed Dependency Trees: a theory of composition for distributional semantics

2016-08-25 · CL 2016 12 · David Weir, Julie Weeds, Jeremy Reffin, Thomas Kober

We present a new framework for compositional distributional semantics in which the distributional contexts of lexemes are expressed in terms of anchored packed dependency trees. We show that these structures have the pot…
