Topological Eigenvalue Theorems for Tensor Analysis in Multi-Modal Data Fusion
This paper presents a novel framework for tensor eigenvalue analysis in the context of multi-modal data fusion, leveraging topological invariants such as Betti numbers. Traditional approaches to tensor eigenvalue analysis often extend matrix theory, whereas this work introduces a topological perspective to enhance the understanding of tensor structures. By establishing new theorems that link eigenvalues to topological features, the proposed framework provides deeper insights into the latent structure of data, improving both interpretability and robustness. Applications in data fusion demonstrate the theoretical and practical significance of this approach, with potential for broad impact in machine learning and data science.

The current paper presents a new approach to multilinear dynamical systems analysis and control. The approach is based upon recent developments in tensor decompositions and a newly defined algebra of circulants. In parti…
Simple Relative Deviation Bounds for Covariance and Gram Matrices
We provide non-asymptotic, relative deviation bounds for the eigenvalues of empirical covariance and Gram matrices in general settings. Unlike typical uniform bounds, which may fail to capture the behavior of smaller eig…
Lipschitz Bounds for Persistent Laplacian Eigenvalues under One-Simplex Insertions
Persistent Laplacians are matrix operators that track how the shape and structure of data transform across scales and are popularly adopted in biology, physics, and machine learning. Their eigenvalues are concise descrip…
Topological Data AnalysisEuclidean-Norm-Induced Schatten-p Quasi-Norm Regularization for Low-Rank Tensor Completion and Tensor Robust Principal Component Analysis
The nuclear norm and Schatten-$p$ quasi-norm are popular rank proxies in low-rank matrix recovery. However, computing the nuclear norm or Schatten-$p$ quasi-norm of a tensor is hard in both theory and practice, hindering…
Tensor PCA from basis in tensor space
The aim of this paper is to present a mathematical framework for tensor PCA. The proposed approach is able to overcome the limitations of previous methods that extract a low dimensional subspace by iteratively solving an…
