A Model for Multi-View Residual Covariances based on Perspective Deformation

2022-02-01 · Alejandro Fontan, Laura Oliva, Javier Civera, Rudolph Triebel

In this work, we derive a model for the covariance of the visual residuals in multi-view SfM, odometry and SLAM setups. The core of our approach is the formulation of the residual covariances as a combination of geometric and photometric noise sources. And our key novel contribution is the derivation of a term modelling how local 2D patches suffer from perspective deformation when imaging 3D surfaces around a point. Together, these add up to an efficient and general formulation which not only improves the accuracy of both feature-based and direct methods, but can also be used to estimate more accurate measures of the state entropy and hence better founded point visibility thresholds. We validate our model with synthetic and real data and integrate it into photometric and feature-based Bundle Adjustment, improving their accuracy with a negligible overhead.

Fast calculation of Gaussian Process multiple-fold cross-validation residuals and their covariances

2021-01-08 · David Ginsbourger, Cedric Schärer

We generalize fast Gaussian process leave-one-out formulae to multiple-fold cross-validation, highlighting in turn the covariance structure of cross-validation residuals in both Simple and Universal Kriging frameworks. W…

MeiBRD: Meta-Learning Intraoperative Biomechanical Residual Deformation

2026-06-16 · Casey Meisenzahl, Jon Heiselman, Michael Holtz, Yubo Ye 외 arxiv

Accurate intraoperative liver registration is challenging due to substantial soft-tissue deformation yet sparse intraoperative measurements. Biomechanical models regularize this ill-posedness with prior knowledge but exh…

Learning Perspective Deformation in X-Ray Transmission Imaging

2022-02-13 · Yixing Huang, Andreas Maier, Fuxin Fan, Björn Kreher 외

In cone-beam X-ray transmission imaging, perspective deformation causes difficulty in direct, accurate geometric assessments of anatomical structures. In this work, the perspective deformation correction problem is formu…

Portmanteau test for the asymmetric power GARCH model when the power is unknown

2018-11-21 · Yacouba Boubacar Maïnassara, Othman Kadmiri, Bruno Saussereau

It is now widely accepted that, to model the dynamics of daily financial returns, volatility models have to incorporate the so-called leverage effect. We derive the asymptotic behaviour of the squared residuals autocovar…

MHR-Net: Multiple-Hypothesis Reconstruction of Non-Rigid Shapes from 2D Views

2022-07-19 · Haitian Zeng, Xin Yu, Jiaxu Miao, Yi Yang

We propose MHR-Net, a novel method for recovering Non-Rigid Shapes from Motion (NRSfM). MHR-Net aims to find a set of reasonable reconstructions for a 2D view, and it also selects the most likely reconstruction from the …
