The Support and Resistance Line Method: An Analysis via Optimal Stopping

2021-03-03 · Vicky Henderson, Saul Jacka, Ruiqi Liu, Jun Maeda

We study a mathematical model motivated by the support/resistance line method in technical analysis where the underlying stock price transitions between three states of nature in a path-dependent manner. For optimal stop…

Option to survive or surrender: carbon asset management and optimization in thermal power enterprises from China

2021-04-10 · Yue Liu, Lixin Tian, Zhuyun Xie, Zaili Zhen 외

Carbon emission right allowance is a double-edged sword, one edge is to reduce emission as its original design intention, another edge has in practice slain many less developed coal-consuming enterprises, especially for …

On variable annuities with surrender charges

2024-05-03 · Tiziano De Angelis, Alessandro Milazzo, Gabriele Stabile

In this paper we provide a theoretical analysis of Variable Annuities with a focus on the holder's right to an early termination of the contract. We obtain a rigorous pricing formula and the optimal exercise boundary for…

Discounted optimal stopping of a Brownian bridge, with application to American options under pinning

2019-03-09 · Bernardo D'Auria, Eduardo García-Portugués, Abel Guada

Mathematically, the execution of an American-style financial derivative is commonly reduced to solving an optimal stopping problem. Breaking the general assumption that the knowledge of the holder is restricted to the pr…

Optimal Mean-Reverting Spread Trading: Nonlinear Integral Equation Approach

2017-01-11

We study several optimal stopping problems that arise from trading a mean-reverting price spread over a finite horizon. Modeling the spread by the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, we analyze three different trading strategies…
