FineMorphs: Affine-diffeomorphic sequences for regression

2023-05-26 · Michele Lohr, Laurent Younes

A multivariate regression model of affine and diffeomorphic transformation sequences - FineMorphs - is presented. Leveraging concepts from shape analysis, model states are optimally "reshaped" by diffeomorphisms generated by smooth vector fields during learning. Affine transformations and vector fields are optimized within an optimal control setting, and the model can naturally reduce (or increase) dimensionality and adapt to large datasets via suboptimal vector fields. An existence proof of solution and necessary conditions for optimality for the model are derived. Experimental results on real datasets from the UCI repository are presented, with favorable results in comparison with state-of-the-art in the literature and densely-connected neural networks in TensorFlow.

Accurate and Robust Alignment of Variable-stained Histologic Images Using a General-purpose Greedy Diffeomorphic Registration Tool

2019-04-26 · Ludovic Venet, Sarthak Pati, Paul Yushkevich, Spyridon Bakas

Variously stained histology slices are routinely used by pathologists to assess extracted tissue samples from various anatomical sites and determine the presence or extent of a disease. Evaluation of sequential slides is…

Deep Diffeomorphic Transformer Networks

2018-06-01 · CVPR 2018 6 · Nicki Skafte Detlefsen, Oren Freifeld, Søren Hauberg

Spatial Transformer layers allow neural networks, at least in principle, to be invariant to large spatial transformations in image data. The model has, however, seen limited uptake as most practical implementations suppo…

POLAFFINI: Efficient feature-based polyaffine initialization for improved non-linear image registration

2024-07-04 · Antoine Legouhy, Ross Callaghan, Hojjat Azadbakht, HUI ZHANG

This paper presents an efficient feature-based approach to initialize non-linear image registration. Today, nonlinear image registration is dominated by methods relying on intensity-based similarity measures. A good esti…

Closed-Form Diffeomorphic Transformations for Time Series Alignment

2022-06-16 · Iñigo Martinez, Elisabeth Viles, Igor G. Olaizola

Time series alignment methods call for highly expressive, differentiable and invertible warping functions which preserve temporal topology, i.e diffeomorphisms. Diffeomorphic warping functions can be generated from the i…
