OP data on CD for mean opacities and radiative accelerations

2004-10-30 · M. J. Seaton

All monochromatic opacity data from the Opacity Project (OP), together with all codes required for the calculation of mean opacities and radiative accelerations for any required chemical mixture, temperature and mass-density, are being put on a 700 Mb CD which will be made generally available. The present paper gives a concise summary of the contents of the CD. More complete documentation will be provided on the CD itself.

New solar opacities, abundances, helioseismology, and neutrino fluxes

2004-12-16 · John N. Bahcall, Aldo M. Serenelli, Sarbani Basu

We construct solar models with the newly calculated radiative opacities from the Opacity Project (OP) and recently determined (lower) heavy element abundances. We compare results from the new models with predictions of a…

Harnessing machine learning for accurate treatment of overlapping opacity species in general circulation models

2023-11-01 · Aaron David Schneider, Paul Mollière, Gilles Louppe, Ludmila Carone 외

To understand high precision observations of exoplanets and brown dwarfs, we need detailed and complex general circulation models (GCMs) that incorporate hydrodynamics, chemistry, and radiation. For this study, we specif…

Up-dated opacities from the Opacity Project

2004-10-29 · N. R. Badnell, M. A. Bautista, K. Butler, F. Delahaye 외

Using the code AUTOSTRUCTURE, extensive calculations of inner-shell atomic data have been made for the chemical elements He, C, N, O, Ne, Na, Mg, Al, Si, S, Ar, Ca, Cr, Mn, Fe and Ni. The results are used to obtain up-da…

Transfer Learning as a Method to Reproduce High-Fidelity NLTE Opacities in Simulations

2022-05-28 · Michael D. Vander Wal, Ryan G. McClarren, Kelli D. Humbird

Simulations of high-energy density physics often need non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (NLTE) opacity data. This data, however, is expensive to produce at relatively low-fidelity. It is even more so at high-fidelity s…

Accelerating Spherical k-Means

2021-07-08 · Erich Schubert, Andreas Lang, Gloria Feher

Spherical k-means is a widely used clustering algorithm for sparse and high-dimensional data such as document vectors. While several improvements and accelerations have been introduced for the original k-means algorithm,…
