Optical and RF Metrology for 5G
Specification standards will soon be available for 5G mobile RF communications. What optical and electrical metrology is needed or available to support the development of the supporting optical communication systems? Device measurement, digital oscilloscope impairments and improving system resolution are discussed.

Recent advances in Bayesian optimization with applications to parameter reconstruction in optical nano-metrology
Parameter reconstruction is a common problem in optical nano metrology. It generally involves a set of measurements, to which one attempts to fit a numerical model of the measurement process. The model evaluation typical…
Bayesian OptimizationDesign and Fabrication of a Spin Coater with In-Situ Optical Measurement for Soft Thin Films
Spin coating is widely used for fabrication of thin polymer and elastomer films, yet reliable thickness verification of highly compliant materials remains challenging due to deformation from contact-based measurements an…
Model-based interfacing of large-scale metrology instruments
Metrology assisted assembly systems constitute cyber physical production systems relying on in-process sensor data as input to model-based control loops. These range from local, physical control loops, e.g. for robots to…
