Rolling Shutter Camera Relative Pose: Generalized Epipolar Geometry

2016-05-02 · CVPR 2016 6 · Yuchao Dai, Hongdong Li, Laurent Kneip

The vast majority of modern consumer-grade cameras employ a rolling shutter mechanism. In dynamic geometric computer vision applications such as visual SLAM, the so-called rolling shutter effect therefore needs to be properly taken into account. A dedicated relative pose solver appears to be the first problem to solve, as it is of eminent importance to bootstrap any derivation of multi-view geometry. However, despite its significance, it has received inadequate attention to date. This paper presents a detailed investigation of the geometry of the rolling shutter relative pose problem. We introduce the rolling shutter essential matrix, and establish its link to existing models such as the push-broom cameras, summarized in a clean hierarchy of multi-perspective cameras. The generalization of well-established concepts from epipolar geometry is completed by a definition of the Sampson distance in the rolling shutter case. The work is concluded with a careful investigation of the introduced epipolar geometry for rolling shutter cameras on several dedicated benchmarks.

Inertial-aided Rolling Shutter Relative Pose Estimation

2017-12-01 · Chang-Ryeol Lee, Kuk-Jin Yoon

Relative pose estimation is a fundamental problem in computer vision and it has been studied for conventional global shutter cameras for decades. However, recently, a rolling shutter camera has been widely used due to it…

Gyroscope-aided Relative Pose Estimation for Rolling Shutter Cameras

2019-04-14 · Chang-Ryeol Lee, Ju Hong Yoon, Min-Gyu Park, Kuk-Jin Yoon

The rolling shutter camera has received great attention due to its low cost imaging capability, however, the estimation of relative pose between rolling shutter cameras still remains a difficult problem owing to its line…

Minimal Rolling Shutter Absolute Pose with Unknown Focal Length and Radial Distortion

2020-04-29 · ECCV 2020 8 · Zuzana Kukelova, Cenek Albl, Akihiro Sugimoto, Konrad Schindler 외

The internal geometry of most modern consumer cameras is not adequately described by the perspective projection. Almost all cameras exhibit some radial lens distortion and are equipped with an electronic rolling shutter …

Rolling-Shutter-Aware Differential SfM and Image Rectification
