An initial study on estimating area of a leaf using image processing
Calculating leaf area is very important. Computer aided image processing can make this faster and more accurate. This include scanning the leaf , converting it to binary image and calculation of number of pixels covered. Later this is converted to mm2.

Deep Learning-Based Direct Leaf Area Estimation using Two RGBD Datasets for Model Development
Estimation of a single leaf area can be a measure of crop growth and a phenotypic trait to breed new varieties. It has also been used to measure leaf area index and total leaf area. Some studies have used hand-held camer…
3D ReconstructionSegmentationMachine Vision-Based Assessment of Fall Color Changes and its Relationship with Leaf Nitrogen Concentration
Apple(\textit{Malus domestica} Borkh.) trees are deciduous, shedding leaves each year. This process is preceded by a gradual change in leaf color from green to yellow as chlorophyll is degraded prior to abscission. The i…

A new method of recognizing apple leaf diseases through region-of-interest-aware deep convolutional neural network is proposed in this paper. The primary idea is that leaf disease symptoms appear in the leaf area whereas…
Transfer LearningAutomating grapevine LAI features estimation with UAV imagery and machine learning
The leaf area index determines crop health and growth. Traditional methods for calculating it are time-consuming, destructive, costly, and limited to a scale. In this study, we automate the index estimation method using …
